My Review!

Full disclosure: I've read this book twice, almost three times I think! Probably will read it another two before the year is done! And it's one of those books that gets better with every read. I have to say I enjoyed the reread even more than the first read! I wasn’t racing to the end, trying to read as fast as possible to see what was happening 😂 And I got to savour the characters evolving, the awesome descriptions and revisit the plot! Even more awesome the second time around 😁

I thoroughly enjoyed my first read of Quinsey Wolfe's Glass Vault, as well. For a retelling/ fairytale / horror, it certainly delivers. It gave me the creeps in certain parts! Be warned this isn't an HEA so if that's your cup of tea, you might want to steer clear.

The retellings of some of the common stories / fairytales we heard as kids are definitely creative. I give extra bonus points for the creep factor in the Snow White version...That was a doozy!

The characters are developing as this is part of a series, so don't let that stop you from getting a copy. I could already see towards the end a difference in Perrie from what she has gone through, and in others (that can't be named as it would spoil things).

I would say we have your usual elements in a YA: a quirky friend, the level-headed friend, and an unknown factor in the form of a boy. All mixed together when they get transported into another world of horrors and obstacles, it makes for a great page turner.

I've since read book 2 as well, and fell even more in love with the series!!! The twist at the end of this first book needs a MAJOR kudos, cause I definitely didn't see that coming! I was left staring for a good few minutes into space trying to figure out what I missed.

Great YA novel, good even for a younger crowd as it's easy to follow!
